For me it would be Edward Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist. I have his Megahouse figure which is a nice figure but I just hate how his pants look, it makes him look like a unich. Also Nagisa Furukawa from Clannad's Kotobukiya figure - her pose is completely off and doesn't suit her personality in my opinion.

Most Griffon figures. At least given how expensive they are. If they were prize figure price or even slightly higher I'd probably have a ton of them considering how many characters from Touhou they've done. Also if a figure of a favourite character of mine is announced and then I get really excited, chances are when they finally show a prototype I'll be disappointed.

I am somewhat disappointed their Kirino figure I have. Her skin looks faded and more pale compared to the official pictures. I still like her pose though, but again what I got wasn't what I expected.

Sadly, yes. The most recent case is Tsukuyo from Gintama by MegaHouse, damn that figure looks terrible.
Blazblue, I was so disappointed when I received Rachel and Makoto, they looked quite lifeless, and I don't like the other figures that are being released.
HOTD and Freezing, both series have some figures, and every figure is bad.

I so agree with you ._. the final design was so different from the prototype(which looked 100, no, 200% better =_=

For me, im very picky. It does not have to match the original art 100%, but at least it needs to be 'my type" (i.e. i end up liking the final result).

There have been occasions maybe 2 or 3 variant of the figure of a character i like being made only by companies notorious for screwing up their figures - if no reputable companies pick up this character and make a figure of it, i'd rathe end up not having a single figure of that character at all, and put my money in other figures that i like (or hunt down figures released in the past under my wishlists).
