Defenders of the Triforce: Legend of Zelda Escape Game

UntramenUntramen8 meses atrásDiary
It's been over a week since I participated in the Defenders of the Triforce Legend of Zelda Escape game in Los Angeles, and I sorta felt like posting about it now.

I don't intend to give any spoilers to the Real Escape Game, but I just wanted to give my thoughts about it.

The Escape Game plot is a modified version of Ocarina of Time and you're given 60 minutes to save Hyrule and honestly the whole thought of that got me revved up so much.

Teams consisted of 6 people, all collectively a single "Link" (think Four Swords Adventures, but... Six) and must move all as one unit when adventuring. We were team number 3 of that session, and honestly being one of the first teams allowed into the hall was very exciting.

The puzzles were relatively challenging, and they had "Navis" that would go around and help people when they got stuck. My team called Navi like maybe 5 times during the whole game but 4 of the hints were "read all the clues carefully" and boy. When you're panicking with 10 minutes left on the clock, your reading comprehension goes to garbage. If we bothered to actually read everything carefully then we probably wouldn't have had to call Navi so many times LOL.

I'm happy to say that my team did manage to beat Ganondorf in the end, clocking in about 55min. Some team beat the game in about 20 minutes and I think they're a whole buncha overachievers. *shakes fist*

I was also very lucky to obtain the last of the pin sets.

They were $18 and it was the last set of pins and I basically threw my money so fast at the salesperson and I'm like belatedly feeling bad about it now but I'm very glad to have it as a memento of my time there!

The one thing that's always made me sad about Escape Games is that you're not really allowed to take that many pictures while there and I do understand it's to prevent spoilers and to preserve the integrity of the game for other players. The only real spoilers for this Escape Game is the puzzles themselves though because plot-wise this is just Ocarina of Time, with a time limit.

I do have a discount code for the Attack on Titan Escape Game in LA that I got from participating in the Zelda one and if I go to that one I might do a small write up of that one too haha. If anyone wants the $5 discount code you can ask me and I'll share it.

lugiastrikes (8 meses atrás) #19160512This sounds really cool. Is this one of the big scale escape game? I've never attended one with multiple teams going at the same time before so I've always wanted to try one.

Yeah for this one it's one of the large scale ones. I was in a banquet hall in a hotel in Little Tokyo for this one. The basic format is there's your table you're assigned to and you get to go to the different zones of Hyrule in the hall after you solve puzzles at your table. There was a lot more moving around than I expected!

andre30496 (8 meses atrás) #19156432Would you say it was really really fun?
Oh yeah it was! I went during the LA encore because the first round in LA was sold out. The encore didn't have the Legend of Zelda themed lounge though which was a little disappointing to me but it was a lot of fun!
