Maakie (3 dias atrás) #22479870This is a very nice figure, but I still have a few things that bug me. Although the posing of her hand doesn't bother me as much as other people have said on the figure's page, I dislike how it obstructs so much from her face and it makes her mouth look more wide than it actually is. Also I think that the high details mainly show when you get reaaallly up close with this figure. From a distance she looks like a huge woosh of cloth (which is also cool in some way I guess xD). Thanks for this review!

I agree that they should have kept the position of her hand they way it was in the illustration, as it does cover up too much of her face.

In game, many of Rise's animations feature her swooshing around those scarves/sashes/whatever they are, and so the swooshiness is faithful to the source material :).

Lorealei (5 dias atrás) #22359253I've been eyeing this figure for a while, but I couldn't get myself to buy her...but I think your review might have persuaded me just a little bit!
Rise looks gorgeous.

Thanks for the comment. If you like Rise, this is definitely a great figure of that character.

secretly-otaku (5 dias atrás) #22369635Thanks again for another great review.
Rise definitely ended up looking better than expected. It seems Aquamarine is getting its name up there among the top figure makers lately.
I'm glad that there were no issues to report regarding her eyes, as it was a concern for many once the painted version was revealed. And her being bigger than expected is a nice surprise, considering how good she look.
In my case, I was more concerned about how NSFW would she be, as there were no clear pictures of her back when pre-orders opened. That G-string could have been exploited and would have made this figure very NSFW (faithful to the source, but unsafe nonetheless). But Aquamarine actually handled this project with a lot of care and taste... and perhaps that hand could have been made differently, but That does not subtract anything to the rest of the project.
Anyway, hoping Aquamarine did something regarding the gold paint and hopefully it will stick there to last.

The Persona franchise strikes me as being a little strange when it comes to fanservice. Ever since Persona 3, there has been no shortage of fanservicey in-game events and optional costumes, but most of the Persona figures that have been made are pretty conservative in their design. In fact, with the possible exception of item #520673, this Rise might be the most risque Persona figure out there (even though she's not *that* risque). Maybe it's a deliberate choice by Atlus to present the correct image of the franchise, but then again they allowed this item #549411 to get made! I gave up trying to decipher corporate decision-making a long time ago...

The gold paint is probably the #1 worry about the figure. I've gotten my share of deeply discounted C-grade items because of gold color fade, but hopefully that won't happen to Rise.

Thanks for the comment! Rose turned out really nice, so I wouldn't mind seeing Aquamarine do other Persona figures.

alibalbal (7 dias atrás) #22308317the painting is really nice, i love all the little details.

The colors on her outfit are even more vivid than they appear in-game which is nice. My favorite little detail might be the tiny hearts on her leggings :).

SengokuGensui (8 dias atrás) #22283011Excellent review! Now I'm even more pumped up to get my copy, if that's even possible...

Hope you get her soon :). Rise ended up exceeding my expectations; if I had it my way she would have been 1/7 or maybe even 1/6 scale. A larger-scale Rise would be epic!

CaptainZ (8 dias atrás) #22273761I really want to get her and item #166161 to display them together. Someday

I regret not getting that Morgiana figure when she was released. She and Rise would indeed look awesome together...

H4RUKA (8 dias atrás) #22274903Man this is such a cute figure! I love this outfit. And the colours look amazing. I have a weakness for anything with a lot of flowing fabric. Great review!
Although, the way they've posed the hand near her face has always confused me. Is it a reference to something from the game (I never finished it)? It looks a lot more natural in the original illustration. But in the final product looks very close to a, uh, completely different gesture with its own interesting connotations.

I'm with you on the hand gesture. I cannot recall Rise making this gesture in-game and in the illustration she's got more of a "peace sign" thing going on and her fingers are cradling her chin. However, since the figure puts her fingers much closer to her mouth, the gesture takes on a much different connotation. Hand gestures are of course far from universal, so I wonder if that gesture has the same connotation in Japan that it does in the west...

Kirenisa (8 dias atrás) #22277764very nice review!

Why thank you very much!
