The Last Roundup (May Loot)The Last Roundup (May Loot)

e-Broe-Bro3 anos atrásLoot
So here we are with the haul for May, with the exception of one item from April. All but one of my April pre-orders we’re pushed to late May and are currently on their way to my next residence. For now here’s what I picked up in the last 30 days or so. This post will be picture heavy. Some of the spoilers won't work, (for the Magical Girls specifically) so sorry about that.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/e-Bro1433038685.jpeg

So these figures came from quite a few places this time around; AmiAmi, eBay, Solaris Japan, Crunchyroll, folks here on MFC, and locally in Seoul. One of the things I was most happy about was a particular set of Nendos that I was able to gather over the course of a month.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/e-Bro1433038689.jpeg

The first to arrive was Saber, who you might have noticed was missing in action from one of the above photos. She actually came in April so she was unboxed a while ago. I’m not really big on Figmas because I’m not big on joints, but I really do like how Saber turned out.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/e-Bro1433038693.jpeg

Next to arrive was Juri, which was actually a nice surprise. Before I discovered other sites, a lot of my pre-orders were on Crunchyroll. I have little to no faith in receiving pre-orders in a timely fashion from CR, but Juri actually arrived before their estimated ship date. Still later than most other sites, but my mind was blown all the same. Anyways, I was really happy with how Juri turned out. I don’t know if it’s the pose, but she looked a bit bigger than Chun-Li and Cammy out of the box. Side by side though, they all look good together. Looking forward to Sakura now.

Next were two figures from Kan Colle. Not one, but two Shimakazes came in, adding to the Shimakaze shrine. I couldn’t decide between ITEM #166425 and ITEM #167094, so I ordered both for the best of both worlds.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/e-Bro1433039286.jpeg

Shimakaze full speed aheadEnough of Shimakaze

So part of my fixation with Shimakaze is not only her design, (there’s something about those bunny ears and the colors of her ensemble that get me) but also Rensouhou-chan, who is pretty darn cute—especially when he’s been damaged. Anyways, I think Griffon wins in the Rensou department. I was pleasantly surprised when the smallest one attached to Shimakaze with a magnet. These Rensous just have more detail then the Amakuni version in general though.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/e-Bro1433039274.jpeg

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/e-Bro1433039276.jpeg

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/e-Bro1433039278.jpeg

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/e-Bro1433039280.jpeg

So the Amakuni version wins the prize for being the better sculpt of Shimakaze. The pose is a little more dynamic (only a little bit) although I do wish the skirt didn’t rest so high on her hips. I guess I didn’t look at the product photos hard enough, but I wasn’t expecting her behind to just be out there like that. Although I guess she’s never had much of a skirt to begin with.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/e-Bro1433039282.jpeg

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/e-Bro1433039284.jpeg

All in all though, I’m pretty excited to add both to the shrine.

Next we have two Snow Mikus that were both purchased from fellow MFC members. I have to say that GSC does a wonderful job on these Snow Mikus. You can tell just from the boxes how much attention goes into these Nendos. 2015 Snowbell Miku is actually the first figure that I’ve considered leaving in the box. It just looked perfect the way it was and I didn’t want to stretch the box in any way, but eventually I folded after opening the 2013 Snow Miku. Once I opened it, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the flower has actual bells in it. Clearly I do not pay enough attention to product photos.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/e-Bro1433039288.jpeg

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/e-Bro1433039292.jpeg

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/e-Bro1433039557.jpeg

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/e-Bro1433039559.jpeg

So the next few figures were purchased on my latest and probably last excursion to Seoul. I was walking by a shop that I don’t usually buy from, and saw GSC’s more recent Madoka on sale for some 30,000 won off. Sold! As far as the figure itself goes, this Madoka is amazing. Nothing more needs to be said.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/e-Bro1433038697.jpeg

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/e-Bro1433038699.jpeg

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/e-Bro1433038701.jpeg

The other two purchases made that day would be from the Rebellion movie; Momoe and Ultimate Madoka. Not much to say about Momoe besides that she’s adorbs and completes the set.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/e-Bro1433039573.jpeg

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/e-Bro1433039575.jpeg

Ultimate Madoka though? Man oh man. I consider this Nendo a rite of passage. She literally fought me at every turn. To achieve the pose I wanted, I had to do a bit of shaving and apply plenty of nervous pressure, trying not break anything. Especially those wings -_- Eventually though, the west was won. Ultimate Madoka did take a bit of work, but it was well worth it. She looks great.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/e-Bro1433039561.jpeg

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/e-Bro1433039563.jpeg

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/e-Bro1433039565.jpeg

Where you have Ultimate Madoka, you can’t be without Devil Homura which was next on the list. I think they were able to learn from the mistakes of Ultimate Madoka as Devil Homura’s wings are outstanding in comparison. I also like how there’s a little Kyubey who still has his characteristic smile although he’s royally screwed. Sorry Kyubey.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/e-Bro1433039567.jpeg

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/e-Bro1433039569.jpeg

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/e-Bro1433039571.jpeg

So the last of my wishes for this month were magical girls and I got just that. I was pretty happy with all of these Nendos, especially the accessories. I’m not too interested in the school uniform set, so I think this will just about do it as far as Madoka Magica Nendos go.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/e-Bro1433039863.jpeg

So my favorite of this lot would have to be Sayaka. All those swords make for an awesome pose. I always though the cape was a nice addition.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/e-Bro1433039855.jpeg

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/e-Bro1433039857.jpeg

My next favorite would have to be Kyouko. Of all these Nendos, just has the most available poses, all of which are pretty awesome.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/e-Bro1433039851.jpeg

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/e-Bro1433039853.jpeg

Next up is Mami who has a BFG and a cute hat. Can’t think of what more a magical girl would need.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/e-Bro1433039859.jpeg

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/e-Bro1433039861.jpeg

Last up are the dynamic duo, Madoka and Homura. Not much stuck out to me about these two, besides Homura’s sweet bazooka.

Well that wraps things up here. I'm pretty happy with May’s haul and looking forward to June’s. Until next month I suppose.

e-Bro (3 anos atrás) #3041805I've searched high and low and there's only a few places I could find that sell figures and collectibles in Seoul. I've been meaning to put together a post on this very topic, but I've just been busy with moving. What I can tell you for now though is there's a Hobby Club at the TechnoMart (8th floor) across from Gangbyeon station, there's iPark Mall and another TechnoMart over in the Yongsan area (mostly model kits and accessories, but there are some figures), and there's the TechnoMart by Nambu Bus Terminal (9th floor - this is where you'll find NonNo21 and an entire floor of figure/video game shops). Depending on where you are, you may be able to ride the metro to Suwon as well, which has a Hobby Club in the mall above the station. It's a small selection, but worth checking out if you're in the area anyways. Prices can be a little inflated based on series popularity, but you can still find good deals here and there. I recommend paying in cash and you may be able to score another 5-10 percent off your total.
As for manga, I can't help you there, but there are some large bookstores here in there. Many people actually do a lot of online ordering in Korea, so that could be another avenue if you're looking for Korean manga.
I hope you have a good time in Seoul. If you need more detailed directions for how to find the places above, just pm me.

Thank you for your answer and helpful tips:) I am going to try to find them all while i'm there. I will be staying in Bundang-gu,which is close to Suwon as well,so i am glad to hear they have some shop too.

Ose_93 (3 anos atrás) #3041369Great haul! I also have very little faith in CR with getting preorders in on time, but it's great that she didn't take to long to get to you. Such cute nendos, congrats on getting those adorable Mikus and magical girls. <3PickyCollector (3 anos atrás) #3041364So much loot! It is overwhelming! Black_wind (3 anos atrás) #3041445so much stuff...** Very nice haul!
And i see you are in Korea...so i am going to grab this chance as i don't know any collectors in/from Korea and going to ask.
I will be spending something over a month near by Seoul soon and so i am interested in figures/manga/anime merch shops. I know about the existence of this "NonNo21" shop but that's about it. Do you have any recommendations for other ones?
(and i suppose the huge bookstores have manga/manhwa but i doubt they will have older-ish stuff)

Nice pics~ Really like that Sayaka pose! Ultimate Madoka nendo also gave me trouble. The parts on mine are loose so the arms keep falling off. Thanks! Oh wow, the parts were loose? I had the exact opposite problem. Nothing would fit, and I mean nothing. Thankfully though, after shaving the pieces everything is extremely tight so nothing slips. I hope you're able to fix those loose parts if they're still giving you problems.
