Sakura Miku Bloomed in Japan Ver ReviewSakura Miku Bloomed in Japan Ver Review

I normally wouldn't make reviews on figures as I just like talking about them with my friends (all one of them) but when I received this nendoroid on the 7th, I felt compelled to.

I was honestly dreading to see the long list of errors this Miku had to offer me as every one of my nendoroids I have gotten so far have been below Goodsmile's normally near perfect rep but I kept going back and buying them. They're fun to photograph, normally cheap and don't take up bunches of space. My level of expectations for this figure were pretty high as she was delayed from April (I think, correct me if I'm wrong) and Goodsmile were talking about opening their new factory with her so I expected quality control to be even tighter than usual.

When I opened the parcel up, this is what I was greeted with. (I also apologize in advance as these first few photos were taken with my iPad mini)

Normally nendoroid boxes would have the same images on the top of the box and the bottom but this particular box is actually different which is nice.

Packaging: 9/10

I overall like the unique box texture as it does stand out from the rest of your standard nendoroid boxes and retains more or less the same shape but adds a little something different. The only thing I wish they had of done was make the decals on the box a bit more visible and less covered up by the texture. Other than that, it looks quite nice and I hope they keep the nendoroid windows in this style from now on.

Here's a quick look at the blister pack and what she comes with.

Let's take a closer look at Miku starting with her face plates (The photos taken from here on are also taken with my camera rather than iPad mini)

Also, if you see any marks on her face it is definitely fluff as these face plates are spotless!

And here are the other two

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/upload/pictures/2015/10/09/1389717.jpeg

I have to admit, when I first took the face plates off of Miku I thought they felt quite fragile until I was switching out her twintails with the braids and I was unknowingly putting quite a bit of pressure onto the face plate so I'm assured they are as sturdy as the original thicker ones.

As for the sculpt and decals on these face plates they are as perfect as they could be. There was also another little bonus on these new face plates I have yet to see any one mention. They don't feel as smooth as the other nendoroid face plates but instead they feel a little like sand, but smoother. When they are held at certain angles in the light they actually shine a lot more like skin!

Here's what I mean

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/upload/pictures/2015/10/09/1389718.jpeg

I really love that they did this and hope they do this for future nendoroids. It looks like she's glittery from head to toe.

The only con to these face plates is that they are rougher so they just eat fluff and dust. I dropped one of her face plates when I was taking photos of her and it got some fluff on it I tried removing it manually but just failed. Maybe sharp nails can remove it much easier but I had to go and wash her face to get rid of it.

I'll move onto her costume now and the main body

Panty shot to see that she even has a tiny flower on them

Before moving onto the back and arms, I didn't realize this until I took a look at the photos on my camera is that she's covered in glitter! Bowie would be proud. Not the kind that scrapes off, it must be some kind of paint as it won't drop off everywhere and she looks really nice in the light.

Now onto the back and arms

As I mentioned before, I expected this nendoroid to be littered with flaws but I was literally shoving her into my mom and younger sister's face saying IT'S FLAWLESS. I'm not kidding either, I hunted high and low for obvious flaws but I couldn't find one.

Also, goodsmile have mentioned this in the instructions but try your best not to touch the little red ribbon on the back as it is quite fragile and I have already read multiple comments about people breaking theirs trying to insert the base. In the instructions it more or less insist that you use a hairdryer for a few seconds on her back to soften up the plastic to allow you to push the base peg into her back securely.

I tried to push the base into her back before and the hole was just too tight http://www.zeldadungeon.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/zeldacdi.jpg

So then I reverted to the hairdryer method but I held onto the side of Miku's torso when pushing the peg into the hole so I wasn't touching the red ribbon at all (dear god this review is just going to be littered with innuendos isn't it.)

Now other little close ups of her costume

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/upload/pictures/2015/10/09/1389706.jpeg

The only problem I have with this little nendoroid's body is that her forearms are a little tricky to push all the way into the hole (here we go again) and the lower arms are little bit loose but not so much that if you nudge her they fall out. Just that you can tell sometimes in the photos I have taken they aren't connected all the way in.

Another little change this nendoroid has to stand out are the hands. For a little fart they're a lot more detailed than they were previously. Each little finger stands out more on the spread hands and the holding hands hold the objects as they should rather than a little tiny fist with a hole in the middle which is nice.

I also have to mention the gradient looks perfect on her hair and the decals are also placed very well.

Now I'll move onto the extra pieces

Here is the base as well with now MADE IN JAPAN written on it instead of the land of noodles! that was a joke

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/upload/pictures/2015/10/09/1389709.jpeg

Here is everything she comes with all laid out including extra hands

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/upload/pictures/2015/10/09/1389741.jpeg

There is also a little tray with her hands attached but I forgot to take a pretty photo of it... Arse. A quick comment about the tray though is that it is quite delicate and may be tricky for idiots like myself to get them into upper arm slots without an accident... The glue did come loose on one of the hands on mine and broke off but was easily fixed in five minutes with some superglue. Just take extra care when giving her that extra piece.

I will also say these extra pieces are quite nice and 'scuise me for my ignorance but I do not for the life of me know the name of any of them. One of them is a flower tho, I bet I'm right. I know the little milk bottle looking thing is some sort of non-alcoholic drink and there's a cup to go along with it but I completely forget the name of the questionable shaped thingy on a stick. And then there's just the shrim- I mean braids. which also look quite cute. And yummy.

Some shots of Miku all posed with the extra bits and pieces, including an extra leg that's bent. Like George Takei

I have to easily give the sculpting and painting a 9/10 for the excruciating obvious effort that went into painting these thumbnail size details. I gave the painting a 9 as I have seen tiny tiny little paint blips on the flower and a tiny paint blip on her right headphone where the red has not quite reached the entire bit it's supposed to but really, you have to squint to see them. The sculpting also the same as the small bottle and cup have tiny mold lines tracing up the sides of them but again, very minute.

Base: 9/10

And for the base, I'm not judging it off of it's plain boring-ness as you already know what you are going to get, it's a nendoroid. So I'm basing it off of how well it holds Miku and does it's job.

I needed the hairdryer to get the slot in but because goodsmile mentioned this in their instructions I didn't deduct a point for that and the base also holds Miku up perfectly. I deducted a point as it would have been nice for maybe a little DIY decal or something to place over the plain old base for this special nendoroid for a change. I wouldn't use it but maybe others would.

Posing: 8/10

My general gripe with nendos are their overall articulation. I, myself are more into action figures like figma or shfiguarts with plenty of articulation so this is more of an opinion. You have your standard nendoroid arms and legs up and down wiggle but I wish they had of brought back the ball jointed arms and legs they had on Snow Miku 2015 as they do provide that bit extra regarding posing. A sitting part as well would have been quite cute.

Enjoyment: 10/10

This is probably the first figure ever I was thinking about in college that I couldn't wait to get home and take more pictures of her because I just love how flawless and cute she looks. This is a definite 10/10 for me

One last little thing to mention before I end this review and stop eating your time.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/upload/pictures/2015/10/09/1389742.jpeg

I've noticed that I can give her other nendoroid's face plates so I thought about switching her and Snow Miku 2015's face plates. The problem was I could give Sakura Miku the face plate easily but the newer thinner face plate (with quite a bit of force) just would not slot in to Snow Miku's face. I didn't want to force it any more so I gave up in case I did do something.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/upload/pictures/2015/10/09/1389743.jpeg

So in conclusion, this nendoroid changed my opinion completely of other nendoroids and Goodsmile themselves as I really am pleased with pre-ordering this ball of cute. I'm super happy I don't have to face the after market price as I just don't have the money and I really do think I got my money's worth out of this figure from what I paid.

Sorry if this review is a bit all over the place, it's 4 in the morning, I have college at 9 in the morning later today, and I'm sniggering at my own jokes. This is also my first review but I hope it was at least somewhat entertaining.

Thank you very much for reading and have an awesome day/night!

autumnskies (1 ano atrás) #31281663I have all my nendos and stuff packed (with the exception of my Jibril nendo) because I am moving but when I unpack I'll see if BIJ faceplates fit into my other nendos, I only have Kirito, Sinon, Asuna, both Sakura Mikus, and Jibrils so I'll try them. I have also found that Faceplate ITEM #522346 fits onto this sakura miku as well.

Oh okay. Pretty cool, let me know then :D

TheYuiChan (4 anos atrás) #3872757KYA I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR SUCH A DETAILED REVIEW OF HER THANK YOU ILYTheYuiChan (4 anos atrás) #3872765I LOVE THIS REVIEW.
Also, are the twintails easy to pull out or do you have to use any force?

Ah, thank you so so much! Your kind words mean a lot to me~ And about removing the twintails, no not really. You just have to tug and wiggle it a lil while tugging and just take the twintail out slowly. The joint on them seems very sturdy which is nice. But getting the normal twintails (not the braids) back in is a little tricky as the little sakuras keep getting in the way. Hope this helps!
