A First GoA First Go

PleinairPleinair3 anos atrásDiary
Well, we have had this page for more then two years now, and I only recently started to observe the blogs and what not. Yes yes, sad and silly. I have yet to write any, of course, for what is there to say? I don't take pics as we get boxes, preferring to do proper lighted photo shoots at a later date to give everything due credit. Though that does keep me from having any sureness of what came when for "loot" posts, and having been worn down slightly by our toy blog on Tumblr where if one talks too much on the post, the less popular it is. They just want the pictures, and have little to no interest in the work or time it took to get it, or that it is even part of a large collection! Hence why my posting has lagged lately.
Also, while I have quite a lot of random things that aren't in the database, I am unsure of myself to make pages. Perhaps sometime!
There is also our lack of love for almost anything pose-able; nendoroids, figma's, action figures and the type(though Hippy has a passion for Gunpla), that isolates us as well. We do get a few Nendoroids here and there, pose them once with much swearing and yelling, and hope to never touch them again!
And for some reason the complete lack of focus of our vast collection means that it is without note.
But no matter! We collect for the love of it. For the cute girls and delicious boys, for the charms and keychains and the passion of it all!
Anyway, I suppose I am hoping to find something to post or blog or even ask about!
For anyone curious, our collection Tumblr page is Here: jerybunny.tumbl... Though as I said I have lagged slightly on posting or pestering hippy to post.

Now past some of that boring chatter, I suppose I can jazz it up with some of our collection in pictures! One of the things we love best is the Persona Series, with a focus on Persona 3 by choice but I get Persona 4 at times too!

These pics are slightly out of date as I have pinned the Persona4 Dancing All Night Disco Edition in that empty spot on the wall, as well as changed a few placements here and there, but nothing major has been added...Yet XD Oh! And also got the next Persona 3 Movie, as well. Such Pretty BD boxes *_* Hippy also has some passion for the Shin Megami Tensei series as a whole.
Hippy tends to collect girls, very very cute girls!

And so so many more...
While I like boys

But, of course, we each have a mix of both! They are all wonderful...
I think the reason the collection got so vast is the fact there are two of us working at it, which we don't meet much of in other collectors. It's nice!
I also love and collect Manga obsessively, and Hippy likes Shadowrun Books, Gundam models, and shoes lol
Well, here's to hoping I can think of things to blog about @_@ Thanks for reading! <3
(I made the pics small this time to save loading time, but may post larger ones if I do end up blogging more.)

Naelyth (3 anos atrás) #4699150Wow! Both of your collections are nice! :) I like your Persona shrine! I really like that Margaret/Theo/Elizabeth poster you have, is that one fanart?
This hobby is so niche; it's great when you can find someone else to collect with! ^^ Thanks for sharing!

Yes, it is fan art! We got it in Arizona at a little baby convention that managed to get the musical Trio of Yumi, Shihoko, and Lotus Juice to do some AMAZING concerts earlier this year! We roadtripped out little butts off to go see them and of course all the artist alley was full of Persona things. It was the Best!

Congrats on taking a bold new step and writing your first blog. Its not easy doing the first one but now that you have done it I would say it only gets easier as you go.

I look forward to reading your next one.

Thank you for the comments :3 Perhaps the grass is always greener, cause all I can usually find as far as other collectors in person are Nendoroid collectors! But that can also be because they are more affordable and quite cute, more then pure preference. And yes! All the Persona!

HobbyCentric (3 anos atrás) #4699044The only reason I "don't like articulated figures" is primarily the fact I'd end up collecting another genre of figures...I don't need that. As far as the one "issue" with them that I have? The articulation points disrupt the flow of the figures lines. I can live with it but I don't care for it.
You are quite right with the genera. I came for anime figures but ended up right back with Star Wars. God have mercy if they ever make G.I. JOE Figuarts. As for the joints I can see that being a problem. I've grown up with action figures so I'm pretty used to it, but yeah if you're just looking for statics and think a articulated can fill the void it can't. Size and joints really do off-put it.

ZoidsFanatic (3 anos atrás) #4697719Not liking articulated figures is quite normal here. In fact liking only articulated figures, like myself, is seen as abnormal. Least that's what I gather from my experience.
Anyway, best bet I can say with blogging is find something you like and just go with it. That tends to suit most people's ideas.
