Canada Post admits delayed delivery

Hi fellow Canadians,

I hate to say this but Canada Post finally revealed the reason why packages are getting delayed way longer than they used to be.

calgary.ctvnews...

Even though in the news, most packages were from China, I do think this applies to all countries in Asia, including Japan.

Long story short, if you don't pay more for faster shipping method, better get prepared to wait months for your package to ever arrive at your doorstep. Because now, they are deemed as "LOW PRIORITY".

Gosh, words can't describe how much I hate Canada Post. It sucks big time.

Edit (06/21/17): I had one package shipped two weeks ago through EMS and it has yet to arrive. This is the first time in my whole figure-collecting life, EMS has taken more than a week to deliver my package.

Edit (06/23/17): Package sent in EMS is still not here yet. Don't know where it is and tracking never updates.

Good lord, CP are like children "oh we can't make any money off China, so we're gonna delay them purposely"... out of what, a grudge? Not to mention when we ship literally anything bigger than a letter envelope out of the same damn province it's like 3x the amount most countries have to pay to send the same thing half way around the world. And tracking isn't even an add on, it's an entire upgrade in service that automatically doubles the price.

I love my mail man, he's responsible and polite, but the upper management should take a look at themselves.

I think both my EMS and SAL parcels go through CP and UPS is stupid expensive. The last time I had anything shipped to me from Japan was in January 2017 (this year). Is this something new as I have a few preorders later this year that will probably be shipped.

That's horrible! If EMS takes that long, you know you're fucked.

First, your new games now cost $90, then then the Canadian dollar gets even weaker, now this. On top of that, it's possible Asian sellers might limit sales from Canadians because they might open more seller disputes due to the delays.

Man, I feel for all of you here.

Pomelo (2 meses atrás) #22515930I have so many issues with Canada post...at least the lady at the post office is really nice and helpful, but that's about it. I haven't bought anything overseas in a while, so I didn't know it was this bad, and now I'm super hesitant to...
How come the lady at the postal office in my area seems so sulky whenever I go there LOL. The reason why I am avoiding Canada Post is not only the high shipping rate but also their service. It's way too slow comparing to other countries. I've lived in Japan before and that I can tell you, it's fast.

The problem with Canada Post right now is they are in denial. They don't understand why customers are avoiding using CP; instead they decided to blame everything on not being able to profit from all these parcels and that's why all these parcels are being delayed. And that's all wrong. It's that they are not competitive enough to survive in this industry. Sigh.

This explains why a few items took literally forever to get to me from china. EMS seems okay so far thou. My red nen. arrived very quickly.

My main problems is that Canada Post upper management seem more interested in privatizing Canada Post rather than working to improve services and profitability.

songtantan (2 meses atrás) #22498248Yep my last RSAL took 6 weeks.
I even made a post here asking is that speed normal.
Since the tracking doesn't work, I had no way of knowing if it is lost or delivered to the wrong place or simply just backlogged.
Aside question, What about item that we ship?
Do we get the same delays?
I don't desire waiting for a split from a fellow Canadian to be a month long.
They officially do not track RSAL. But they do track them and you can actually track them to a certain extent, you won't know exactly what is going on, but you'll get the date of the last update and since the update for a package are generally linear (they almost always get scanned at the same place, in the same order), you should be able to guess what is going on.

Practical explanation:
Track 1 RSAL package and you'll get this:
CPTracking is not available for international registered mail items sent to Canada. No date and no clue what is going on.

Now track any 2 package and you'll get a table like this:
CPTracking No. Date / Time Description Service Type
xxxxxxxxxxxxx 2017/06/20 / 04:08 Tracking is not available for international registered mail items sent to Canada. International Inbound Registered
xxxxxxxxxxxxx 2017/06/14 / 07:17 Tracking is not available for international registered mail items sent to Canada. International Inbound Registered
We just got the last scan of the package, in this case, the first just arrived in Vancouver and the other one was just entered in Canada Post system.

Fight you tooth and nail off the handling fees.
Never hurts to try.
Sometime they wave it. ^.^
