hi everyone!
on sunday i am going to be going to my first con ever, chara expo!
i am super excited to see the bang dream's seiyuus live!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(technically my first con was anime expo back in '07, but i was 6 years old at the time, so i don't really remember much / didn't get to do much).

this is really exciting for me since i've always wanted to go to an anime related convention but never had a friend group to do it with ;__;

now that i do, i wonder if you guys had any suggestions / advice / etiquette for going to conventions?
all i really know is that 1) bring a lot of money but don't impulse buy everything you see, 2) bring lots of water, and 3) always ask for permission to take photos of cosplayers!

p.s. there's going to be pro-wrestling at this con wtf bushiroad

One word, "Linecon". But in all seriousness, if there's a panel/event you wish to attend, depending on the size of the Convention, you might want to get in line at least a half hour before the event(at the Anime Expo, which is huge, I would suggest getting in line an hour before) to ensure you're able to attend the event and of course, get good seats.

so much good advice - from my experience -> put your stuff in a secure lightweight backpack! free hands for browsing, waving, taking pics :)

Just avoid nendos as nendo bootlegs in cons are fairly common and cons are a good time to buy some merch like wallscrolls, keychains, etc. Basically they are great to buy stuff that is not figures, for figures I would stick to online stores and the like

take123 (5 meses atrás) #42969966I was in a doujin festival in Japan today. Just be careful of bootlegs. Even events and conventions can have them.
I believe now after opening what I bought, I had purchased a bootleg Dakimakura. If something doesnt look right dont be afraid to walk away.

Yeah, I just had the pinnacle of that experience.

A lot of the points are already covered but wear deodorant! Cons are cramped and the smell of BO is horrible! Of course only you wearing deodorant won't get rid of the problem of hundreds and thousands of peoples' BO but every person wearing deodorant counts!

If you're cosplaying and wearing make up, get a setting powder that will let your makeup stay after a few hrs of walking around!

Check out what panels you want to go to and expect it to be popular! Sometimes panels and workshops have cut offs and you won't be able to go! Go early!

1. Water plenty of water
2. In addition to asking permission to take pictures, ask permission before touching! Dont hug cosplayers or grab them with out their consent.
3. Shop around before making purchases, other venders may have items cheaper. Try to also keep in mind what the current going price is for anything your looking for so you don't overpay too much; some dealers waaaay overcharge
4. Don't talk badly about artists in the artist alley right in front of their table.
