Hey, fellow mfc-members and welcome
to another review!

Today I’ll be reviewing ITEM #754512 the tiny little pharaoh Nitocris made by Furyu. The one servant that always spooks me when I’m actually rolling for someone specific in FGO… ┐( ̄ヮ ̄)┌
At first, I didn’t even like her, but I’ve kinda did a 180 after NP 3 and some more exposure. Meaning now there was no way I’d pass this little cutie up, especially since her second ascension is my favorite. (๑♡⌓♡๑)
As she is the first noodle stopper I bought for myself I have no cup noodles for her to sit on (not that I’d ever use her for that), so I’ll use a riser for this review.

~◦*◦✾◦˚°˖*゚✲*❁*✲゚*˖°˚◦✾◦*◦~
The box, despite featuring some design elements that fit Nitocris character and background, is still pretty basic. Particularly because considering that pictures of the figure or the FGO logo are plastered on most surfaces. Then again I rarely keep prize figure boxes anyway.

~◦*◦✾◦˚°˖*゚✲*❁*✲゚*˖°˚◦✾◦*◦~
The figure comes in 5 parts, with the... well I guess they are ears(?) and staff/scepter disassembled.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2019/05/10/2211771.jpeg
I feel like the instruction sheet wasn't really necessary, since the assembly is pretty straight-forward but I appreciate the gesture.

Her scepter looks really nice, with some great details.

Now for the full view…

Even on a riser (and now on my shelf) Nitocris looks very regal.

~◦*◦✾◦˚°˖*゚✲*❁*✲゚*˖°˚◦✾◦*◦~
I find it a bit hard to describe her facial expression, she is smiling but she also seems a bit tense to me.
https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2019/05/10/2211780.jpeg

In light of gold paint apparently being notoriously hard to do decently for manufacturers her headband and ears look really well painted albeit not perfectly. The hair has some nice details on the front bangs and side braids, but they're obviously glued in and you'll find some seams as well. Yet that's nothing unusual for a prize figure.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2019/05/10/2211785.jpeg
The hair at the back has some very subtle shading but no sculpted details, which makes the hair look super fluffy for some reason. :3 Nitocris's hair is tied at the end with a big red ring, both the hair and ring aren't terribly detailed, but not flawed either.

~◦*◦✾◦˚°˖*゚✲*❁*✲゚*˖°˚◦✾◦*◦~
Going further down we can finally appreciate the wealth of small details on her clothing and accessories starting with the collar/necklace. Said necklace and by extension the gold "sleeves" are really well painted and look great, despite the pearly details showing seam lines. The hoop earrings too look quite good.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2019/05/10/2211792.jpeg
It bothers me a little that her side braids hover over her body, but that's just me being nitpicky.

The bangles and straps she wears add a lot to the overall impression, but the seams as well as the blotchy paint turn them into a mixed bag. The Same goes for her hands, which look very feminine with the painted fingernails, sadly they're not free of flaws either.
https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2019/05/10/2211799.jpeg
https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2019/05/10/2211800.jpeg

Up close you can see quite a few imperfections on her body as well. Small dots of excess plastic, uneven paint and the like, but once you display Nitocris you'll just marvel at details like the gold chains and forget all about that. Her belly is nicely defined too (a bit of shading would make it perfect however).

Yes, it does bother me that the chains and pink fabric don't touch the ground... I can't help it, ok? x3

The different layers of cloth on her...can you even call this a skirt?... Well whatever, they do look quite good, with a few paint errors here and there (the gold paint). Plus, they don't completely reach the chains raising the questions of how this outfit even works. x3

Obligatory look under the "skirt"...
View spoilerHide spoilerhttps://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2019/05/10/2211803.jpeg
Nitocris also has a gorgeous pair of legs to show off and the high heels with the straps really emphasize that fact.
https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2019/05/10/2211804.jpeg

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2019/05/10/2211806.jpeg

Taking a closer look, the shoes themselves aren't particularly spectacular or well-made and you can find some not so nice seams (on the calves too). But I like that they painted the toenails.

Why ever did they print the copyright logo under her sole btw? x3

I didn’t measure Nitocris for this review, since the height depends on what you put her on (among other things). I’ll still do some size comparisons though.

If you want to display her to figures that fit her accurately, smaller prize figures like the ones from Taito ( ITEM #649408 for example) or other Furyu figures might be your best bet.
https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2019/05/10/2211818.jpeg

1/8 figures might work as well, yet that obviously depends on the figure. Going by the face size and body proportions (even with the sitting ones) it’s quite apparent though that Nitocris is smaller than your average 1/8 scale.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2019/05/10/2211821.jpeg

With some clever placing even a sitting 1/7 may work (ITEM #501857 actually doesn't look that bad next to her), but I wouldn't bet on it.

Yes, there are quite a few flaws on this figure, which is pretty normal for prize figures in general. Plus, Nitocris's design with all its tiny details is very ambitious to tackle for a manufacturer. In light of this I'm quite impressed she turned out this well. She isn't the tallest figure out there, but I love her, and I do think with this figure you get a lot for such a small price.

That's it for this review! Thanks for reading, I hope you liked it! ^^
If you don’t mind, I’d love some constructive criticism,
but if you don’t feel like posting any your thoughts on the figure are also very welcome. :3
Also, if there's anything in my collection you'd like to see a review of feel free to shoot me a message or something.^^

Yeah, it looks really lazy, but it's not like her character art for that ascension had much in the way of details there View spoilerHide spoilerhttps://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/fategrandorder/images/c/ce/NitocrisHD1.png/revision/latest?cb=20171206155522.jpg. Well, I've struggled to find a fitting word for her expression and in the end just went with that. x3
"Worse" huh? So where else did you find copyright info on prize figures? That makes me really curious.^^

Oh yeah, I'm aware of how it looks in the artwork and don't mind it there at all, but to see it recreated like that in a figure is a bit...chuckle-worthy. ;)

I've got multiple, but the first that comes in mind is ITEM #22125 who has it on her hat: PICTURE #1733938 , but I've had figures in the past where it was just pasted on their lower back. ^^''

Maakie (5 meses atrás) #62250408You know how I have a weak spot for Egyptian themed figures, so this review was appreciated! :)
I didn't expect the back of her hair to be such a 'blob', so I had to giggle when I saw the first picture from the back. I personally would have called her facial expression 'regal' or 'ruling' I think, it's quite unique, love it! Btw, be glad to copyright is under the sole, I've had worse with prize figures... :P Thanks for the review!

Rajke (7 meses atrás) #58980161Great review. The paintjob is indeed not bad and the design choice is indeed a daring one (that turns out well). It surprises me that Furyu decides to also paint small parts like the nails.
The copyright on the foot is something that is present on all Furyu's noodle stopper figures. The bad thing about that is that something changed over time, at first it was not much noticeable. For some reason the more recent one's are white like the one in your review.
Thank you! :3 I was surprised by the paintjob as well, definitely makes me consider getting more noodle stoppers (not the insanely priced F:Nex ones though).
I see, that’s unfortunate. It’d be okay if they picked less conspicuous colors at least, but well… nothing that can be done about that I suppose. -_-

Heldrik (7 meses atrás) #58944412Well, the fact is that yes, I do have a one figure per character rule. I don't really know about Amakuni's history with prices, but I do agree with you on her face. But seeing as I already have a Servant figure with a face that totally doesn't do him justice as much as it could/should (i.e. Iskandar), I can forgive that. And yeah, you're right about the sculpt, it's damn good.
As for your final question (and nah, you're not prying, that's cool), I'd say it's quite simple: either I go with Amakuni's and I am happy (but I'll have to save again for potential further figures) or I go with the noodle stopper and I am still happy (although more than likely less than I'd be with Amakuni's) and I save a whole lot of money.

Man, talk about a tough choice...
Well, from what I’ve seen so far Amakuni figures come LE by default and have a fitting pricetag (some of the more “shocking” examples: ITEM #738582, ITEM #520674...). If you’re ok with the face the real question is if she’s worth it to you no? You rarely get any figures at all from what I’ve read so far so it should be okay to splurge once and treat yourself if you really love her. The noddle stopper sure is nice, especially with the small price tag. Yet that’s going for the more “subpar” product while you prefer the other one. A tough choice to be sure and one you have to make on your own.
Another option would be to wait until the Amakuni figure is released (user pictures can be extremely helpful), yet the aftermarket can be quite tricky/risky.

Do you have a one figure per character rule? If not I don't really see a problem getting both other than the Amakuni price being... well... Amakuni-level. I personally wouldn't have minded the price so much + you get at least one Medjed, but the face on that version really irks me. FRom certain angles the corners of her mouth make her face look somewhat chubby and there's something else I can't really put my finger on. Other than that she looks great, especially the body sculpt.
I might be prying a bit and if that's the case please let me know, but you said you prefer her third ascension... let's say you don't get that version because of the price, which figures would you rather get? Saving is good and reasonable ofc, but maybe you're overthinking it?

Heldrik (7 meses atrás) #58941283Great review as usual, very detailed (thanks to all the photos) and informative.
I must say I am torn: I really like Nito-chan (definitely one of my favorite Servants that originated from Grand Order), and I really want a figure of her in my collection. But here's the dilemma: since I like her third ascension better than her second, I am tempted to go with ITEM #549493, but that price though... Or I could go with the one you the one you reviewed, which is still good (and I don't mind prize figures) and save money for other figures. What a cornelian choice!
Thank you! :3

jazzylin (7 meses atrás) #58931764I absolutely love mine, she’s sitting on the edge of my pc looking regal lol. I hadn’t even noticed the part of the skirt that doesn’t touch the ground, that is a bit annoying. Thanks for the review!I love her too, she's reigning over a part of my shelf now (high up so I can appreciate her the most). :3
While it bothers me a bit I'm not exactly surprised about it, from what I gather stuff like that isn't unusual (kind of similar: ITEM #677854 her hand doesn't actually touch her hip).

Sakura0055 (7 meses atrás) #58941158She's so cute! Back of her hair reminds me of a ditto somehow :DWow, didn't even think of that but your right, different color, some eyes and you'd have a little Ditto. x3
