Hi guys,

So I figured (pun intended) I'd start doing some videos on figures, I won't be talking, I'll just be placing the figures on a turntable and film em from various sides to sorta show the figure sculpt and paint job quality.

For this I've purchased two items on eBay. A cheap turntable that seems to spin steadily and a lightbox that has lights and reflective insides and can be folded up.

So my question for you guys - any of you do videos specifically in a light box, with or without a turntable? I'd like to see the outcome of these shoots and also any tips that people might have. :) Link me some youtubes or something! ^^

EDIT: The doggo wasn't included with the turntable. D:

The light has it's own switch which I like so you don't have to use and I don't LOL

I was going to get a cheaper one but I was just like 'Might as well just spend the extra money and get one you like' plus a lot of them had really small diameters and I wanted to make sure it would work with figures that have obnoxiously large bases too.

Yes, but it's 'natural' light, so it doesn't yellow things and stuff like that. I used to use it a lot when taking photos because it's really nice for them but uh, got lazy.

I got an: fotoconic White Electric Motorized Rotating Turntable Display Stand with LED, 10 Inch
It works really well. Not too loud and it does rotate both ways + has an led light in the middle.
The one I got folds too. Really, I need to get my otlight back from my mom because that gives great lighting.

Ooh, I looked at that one! And yes, it's super quiet! But I kindof didn't understand the LED in the middle. Does it do anything for ya? Doesn't the figure stand obscure it anyway?

The one I got is hella loud as far as I can tell, but I think I can put some thicker grease into the cogwheels and if that doesn't help I'll put in some even thicker grease and up the voltage so that the wheels spin faster or something, lol. It was cheap af so I don't really mind modifying it if I have to. :D

Ottlight is a brand no? It looks like regular bulb lights. But it says daylight so I assume it's pretty bright. ^^ I just like the idea of the light bouncing around inside a lightbox and getting rid of hard shadows and lighting up pretty much every aspect of the figure. I got a bunch of Philips Hue lights that I'd be able to use too but I reckon it won't be the same without them going into a lightbox anyway. :|

I also have a light box but it ends up being such a hassle to set up that I gave up on it not long after getting it. Plus they take up so much room.

Very cool! What turntable is it? :)
And yes, that was why I ordered one that can be folded up. I can sit it on the table, use it, and fold it back up and put it into the closet after. Seems fairly easy. But I'll see when it gets here. I really want the good lighting that it brings, you know?
