Experience with Yahoo AuctionExperience with Yahoo AuctionAsk MFC

Hello MFC,

I found the scale of May with Mudkip on Yahoo Auction for a decent price (however I underestimated Buyee fees ...).

It was the first time I used Buyee, I bidded and I won the auction. Even though there was only one photo (and not even in good quality), judging by the box and the seller rating (only 6 bad reviews out of 2600), I didn't question the authenticity of the scale.

However, I noticed a few days ago a little black spot on the photo (around the chin), and I don't know if this is a stain or just a reflect.

Here is a preview

Since the item condition was "No obvious damages/dirt", I didn't ask for more photos. I should had done it.

The scale is currently in the buyee warehouse, I'm just waiting for SAL to reappear (hope springs eternal, as they say). And since there are no cancellations, the die has been cast.

Anyway, does any one of you had a bad experience with a figure with the "No obvious damages/dirt" condition ?

I don't know about if there were statements of "no obvious damages/dirt" used in the item descriptions in the two cases I'm going to cite here. I did get the figures on Yahoo! Auc and I received them in their packages/boxes in new or just about new condition: 1) Droopy violin - Yamato , and 2) Where's my plane? - Kirie

The Yamato figure was a prize figure so...whatever. No big deal. The Kirie figure...I didn't notice the loose tailplane until when I took the figure out to display it. Once again, no big deal. Nothing was bent, broken, or missing.

It’s probably just the glare from the camera edit: now that I look closer it probably is a stain

I've used Yahoo auctions twice and had really good experiences.
The first thing I do is always check the reviews, and I use FromJapan to use Yahoo auctions. They seem to always check the figures thoroughly enough

I don't know if I trust Y! JA anymore because of the prevalence of Chinese sellers... many selling at outrageous prices.

It's probably still good... but proxy fees are too expensive for me to try.

Hahaha I got hit with the fees thing too. But still I don't regret at least one of my purchases cuz you really will get gems from yahoo auctions

Perhaps you can contact them directly Truthfully I have no idea how proxies handle returns/false listings if they even handle them at all. Have you tried google translating the text in the original item listing. Maybe there was some mention of a marking.

There's a chance it could just be a marking on the plastic and not actually on her. Or on the plasticy paper that figures have to cover them when in their plastic mold. If you look closely I think it kinda looks like that sheet is on her maybe?

4catdoorman3 meses atrás#78819463Used to buy from YAJ via Buyee often for past released anime figure items a few years ago but found the added expense of proxy fee + local Japan shipping cost + overseas shipping to be too much plus the probability of getting stuck with a bootleg (happened to me twice on YAJ! of which 1 was a scale) above the norm compared to Japanese vendors I use on PO's or AmiAmi-preown as well as some of the wonkiest packaging by certain sellers on YAJ ever witnessed as an overseas buyer upon receipt...do not miss.
I have not used YAJ in 2 years and do not plan to in the immediate future. Did get some great items over time which did outnumber the bad experiences.
If it's working out for you, great!!

Yeah, I chose Buyee because it was the first one I discovered and it seems pretty reliable. Then I did some research concerning proxies and found that Buyee was the more expensive (ofc it was after I won the auction). I'll try FromJapan or Zenmarket in the future.

sarious3 meses atrás#78820563Ask Buyee for some pictures if they have it sitting in warehouse. They won't be able to send it back most likely, but at least you won't have to worry about not knowing.

Yeah I thought of it, then I learned that it was 300yen. It's not that much I know, but I think I'll try being more serene about it.
