Hello there~ It has been a while since i last posted a blog post, because, as you grow older you become a busier person. Which is why, for today I’m keeping things short but hopefully informative enough - We’ll be taking a look at my photography process Aniplex’s Ereshkigal from Fate/Grand Order.

This post is in reference to this picture: PICTURE #2457052

Nicknamed the Queen of Kur and being the one who holds the authority over the underworld, it is only fitting to place her where she belongs - the underworld itself, where she also collected and imprisoned the souls of dead humans she likes in cages. My setup exactly replicates what the underworld and her domain looked like in the anime adaptation of FGO Babylonia.

Props Used

The overall landscape: Aquarium rock foams. You can find them online but mind the shipping costs due to their size.

Soul cages: 3D printed, with real metal chains wrapped around it.

Stalagmites: 3D printed, to support and hold the soul cages upright.

Ruins and broken pillars: 3D printed. They serve two purposes - to support the figure standing without a base, and to conceal all the wiring and batteries of the LED lighting

Souls: Blue LED wrapped with cotton

Ereshkigal’s lance/spear: LED strip lighting was pasted on the rear side

In addition to all the LED lighting that mainly serve aesthetic purposes, Two key lights that are heavily diffused are used on the figure, while a third background light adds a blue tint to the entire scene.

This figure was very difficult to photograph and required a lot of care to the lighting adjustment because the eyes of the figure are too reflective.

Straight Out of Camera VS After color grading in Adobe Lightroom and focus stacking in Helicon Focus.

And that is all the summary on my work on Ereshkigal. Thank you very much for reading, and I hope you guys enjoyed it!

May I ask where did you find blueprints for 3D printed objects?

Thank you. There are no blueprints available online. I designed it from scratch in software using anime screenshots as a guideline. I'm fairly a beginner or amateur on this, but the cage isn't that complex structurally, so it's within my abilities.

Very cool. Actually I like the SOOC version better for more subdued color. More fitting for a dungeon IMO, although her skin looks much better in edited version.
