Kairi in a Seifuku...

Hmm, wut?! XD

At first it didn't sounded good to some Kingdom Hearts fans who prefer Kairi in her trademark pink outfit. She wore only her seifuku in two cutscenes anyway so what's the deal in making her wear it in her action figure representation?

Even I asked myself that question a lot of times before but after joining Tsuki-board where the database of the figures are so diversed that it made me feel Kairi is welcome along with those luscious teenage girls in seifuku.

Seifuku is one of the important facets in Japanese pop culture and perhaps in order to add some nice Japanese touches to some of their figures, Square-Enix went with the Seifuku for Kairi. Besides, very few Play Arts figures actually have Japanese touches on them such as Yuna and Auron.

Now then.

Detail Close-ups

http://s253.photobucket.com/albums/hh64/Balthier_Bunanza/th_KairiFace.jpg At fifteen, Kairi's face has considerably matured from her much cartoonish portrayal in the first Kingdom Hearts game. She is also given a more porportionate body and longer legs to further emphasize the charm of wearing a Seifuku. Though her feet remained quite...large. ^^;

- Her plaid skirt is well-painted. No smudges. Just adorable blue and white hues.

- Kairi is cast-off like Selphie but unlike the latter's small mounds, you'll see nothing in the former. The oppai is actually in the uniform itself. XD
Oh wait, they should have a Selphie in seifuku figure too! :D

Accessories and gimmicks

Her accessories are a tote bag and two extra pairs of hands.

With the tote bag, she can put her goodies there but you can't since the inner side is completely sealed off. Square-Enix (and Disney!) leaves up to our imagination the contents of the bag.

http://s253.photobucket.com/albums/hh64/Balthier_Bunanza/th_KairiBag.jpg Since you can't actually put anything in the bag itself, you can decorate it with small keychains or just make Kairi use it to clobber some hentai-aru or Nobodies. XD

With her extra hands, you can make her hold some Keyblades

...and what-not. --> http://s253.photobucket.com/albums/hh64/Balthier_Bunanza/th_KairiHarassment.jpg

Like all of the Kingdom Hearts figures so far (sadly, including the super-unstable Axel); Kairi has no stand. Well, she somewhat needs it because she's not as balanced as Roxas and I had quite some problem placing her in a stable pose at first.

But the best gimmick of this figure has to be the fact that you can take a...

PANCHIRA in a DISNEY figure! Ohhhh ~ XD

She stands 155mm tall and has 16 points of articulation.

I am expecting that Kairi's joint problem would be her crotch joints because of her skirt but that is definitely not the case. A miracle?

But moving upward, you can see that the problem comes from her shoulder joint. Not only it is as fragile as Crisis Core Aerith's but her folded sleeves also added to the burden. It has the great hazard of crumbling and falling apart when you move the shoulder joints around. It irked me when it first happened to me as I don't have a glue at that time. I wish Square-Enix (and Disney!) should have assessed this beforehand. But there's no turning back now.

I recommend Kairi to people who like girls in Sailor outfits/school uniforms and of course, Kingdom Hearts fans.

Next and last for the KH2 figures, the Flurry of Dancing Flames.
