Maakie (4 meses atrás) #29499481Do you have any idea where the 4000 yen price comes from? Because I would expect these to be 'regular' prize figure prices, like inbetween 1000 and 2000 yen. 4000 would make it seem like either a scaled figure or a very overpriced prize campaign. Did you find some more information somewhere online? Would love to read more about this release myself too!
    Yep, I do.
    www.1999.co.jp/...
But since they're price figures, they don't really have a list price and it shouldn't be listed on MFC at all, but these entries are old so I'm guessing someone just added the info found on HS.

Aimaileafy (4 meses atrás) #29493671Seeing this figure makes me kinda sad ;; Chrno Crusade has been one of my major anime/manga-series in my youth. I loooved the series so much! It makes me sad that we most likely never will see a proper figure of neither her nor Chrono, even if esspecially Rosette has a lot of potential for a very good figure. It surprises me that the series is so well-known in America! In the EU its rather unknown (and I guess in Japan too or else we would have more figures to choose from).
Thanks for the awesome review! It was interessting as always ♥

Don't say that! Have hope! Maybe one day there will be more! TT^TT And well, I'm from Europe too. :P And specifically in the Netherlands I regularly see new cosplayers doing a Chrono + Rosette combo. I know from a lot of Belgian and German people that Chrono Crusade was a hit over there too and a lot of people have fond memroies of it. :) In America it seems to be well known too, but I don't know if it's on the same level as the Netherlands and neighboring countries. In Japan it was not much of a hit though, which explains the low amount of merchandise. :(

Thank you for liking the review! :)

victorviper (4 meses atrás) #29496053You can definitely tell that this is an old figure from a sort of second-tier manufacturer. However, I certainly understand how a lower-quality figure of a much-liked character can still be an enjoyable figure. I've been there :).
I think we've discussed this before, but it's too bad that neither this company nor anyone else ever made a painted PVC figure of Azmaria Hendric. I'd so buy one...
I had to look up Aruze in the database, and it would be interesting to know more about who that company was. It looks like they were only active for a couple of years, they made some Chrono Crusade figures, some Super Mahjong figures, and some Night on the Galactic Railroad (!) figures and then just sort of disappeared.
It was funny that you mentioned ITEM #5206 as a similarly old figure that's of much higher quality, but looking at those Koto Comic Party figures, they really are not too bad for figures made back in 2004!

Second-tier is a nice way to call them, haha! It's indeed quite a strange company, only for a short time in the market, with what seems to be mainly prize items and figures and a bunch of trading figures.

Azmaria is a fan-favorite (I'm pretty sure most of the doujin merchandise out there from Chrono Crusade is of Azmaria :P), she does have a few garage kits, but I'm surprised that this trio-figure set doesn't have her instead of 2 Rosette's (I guess the company wanted to keep costs low).

A lot of older Koto figures are still very very nice, I still like the Rosseti figure BLOG #34864 I reviewed not very long ago. :)

Shaolan-kun (4 meses atrás) #29497935Fun fact: the correct name is "Chrono Crusade", of course. But it's also known as Chrno, as it appeared on the first edition of the manga, because the author, Daisuke Moriyama, wrote it wrong when designing the logo.

I know it's a mistranslation, but I always liked the use of Chrno more, it makes it more unique. :) But ever since I learned that (a few years ago) I try to type it like Chrono mostly as that was how it was intended. ^^ Also, I quite like the logo, mistranslated and all. xD

Coffee (4 meses atrás) #29498066It was never supposed to sold as a standard release though.
Don't know why the price tag is listed on MFC but even the box for these say "amusement only, not for commercial sale".
