Oh, but we also have that lol. Don't think the starting fee for each package is all we have. xD On top of the starting fee you get 21% customs on the value of the items inside + possible other fees depending on your shipping service. It are fees on top of fees and fees and most of us have just given up trying to calculate beforehand what you get. Just do a big group order, split the bill, cry a bit, and move on. xD But yeah it is NOTHING compared to the stories of South America (crazy high fees and long wait) and South Europe (lots of damaged and lost packages next to long wait).

Hehe, I don't think I will post much next to the Calne stuff, because local people are not using Twitter at all, so I don't really know what to do with that social media except for making a small profile to show off my Calne a bit. xD That being said, last weekend was the competition! I'm not sure if you watched the livestream, but I am actually hoping you did not lol. At the event itself all went well, but on the livestream my sound was missing for 75% of the time (license issues? technical problems?), so it just looked like I was flopping around in silence and is a bit...awkward. So I will edit a video myself with my own audio and release it on my own Youtube. I'm also waiting on another videographer his video, as there is a chance that he has a better version without me having to edit or get in trouble with ownership of video myself. Anyway, I'll share it with you when I have a decent video! If you can't wait, you can see the 'bad' version on the streaming website, but yeah it's a bit...lacking. I also don't have any professional pictures of the outfit yet, just some quick snaps with cell phones from family/friends, which I will upload soon online. :) Overall I'm super glad this project is finished. There are a lot of things I would have done differently right now, but it was also a big learning experience. I'm quite proud on some of the parts, especially the skeleton bits. :)

Considering I took quite a long time to reply, is your health better now? And yeah I had the same last time I was sick, no caffeine allowed. It's not like I am an caffeine addict, but I like a big cup of coffee in the morning and a bit of soft drink in the afternoon, and I really noticed that next to feeling like a slow sloth, that I seemed even more slow without any caffeine. X_X

Over here there are only really long waiting lists if you need replacement organs or some really specific surgery that is not life threathening. So the chance that you die or get even more sick because of waiting lists is quite small luckily. We have quite a lot of dentists, general practices etc., only hospitals can let you wait a bit, depending on what you need.

I think the biggest difference over here compared to the USA is that everyone gets basic government help, while in the USA a bunch of requirements need to be met. I don't know all the details as I'm not completely up to date with your politics, but I thought Obamacare was the idea to get it more close to the system we have in the Netherlands by letting everyone have at least that basic government help/discount similar to us. We also have a minimum amount of money that has to be paid out of pocket with basic insurance by the way.

Over here you MUST have that basic coverage, otherwise you are not allowed to get helped at the doctor/dentist/hospital. Employers sometimes also offer packages, but in our experiences so far that mostly means that your employer can offer you the most expensive package with a chunk of discount. Considering we only 'need' the basic package with a few add ons, we are not going to spend 75+ euros extra each month to have a cheaper package of the 'ultimate' insurance. Well, maybe we will get it if one of us gets health problems or when we get pretty old and are more of a risk group, but right now it's just money lost if we were to pay that. Also, even the 'ultimate package' does not even cover 100% of your bills, they just cover a higher percentage.

With the USA, whenever I talk to people about things like health insurance, work benefits etc. it always really seems to me like every state is it's own country by itself by how different it can be everywhere! For me, just like a lot of other Europeans, it can be baffling how big of a country you guys are and can still function so well! Especially because there is such a huge difference between each of our European countries their rules, culture, language, benefits etc., I can imagine likewise differences between states. :)

Oh! And considering you also like YGO boys, I have a new review about one of them: BLOG #40334 :) Seto is pretty much the fangirls' favorite of the franchise.

No wonder most Europeans undervalue their packages to get out of customs. *cough* But yeah group orders are the best and I luckily have 3 good friends that generally all chip in when we set up a group order every few months. Considering our starting fees for only receiving a package already starts at almost 20 euros, it greatly helps if you can divide that bij 3 or 4 people...

I only use Twitter for work, because in the Netherlands Twitter is not popular at all except for news outlets, politics and companies, but for Japan it seems like their (almost) main social media also for personal things. I think I will especially make a Twitter account to @ him. :) I hope I will get some good pictures on-stage when I debut the outfit, because I will be in the competition so I will barely have time to be outside of the backstage to get some decent pictures. Although in general stage pictures can also be very nice and you have a lot of photographers to check their results from.

No, never heard of a short-notice clinic before (we have normal doctor and urgent emergency hospital help), but dang, that sounds heavy! Best of health for you and your bf! Take your meds, take a rest and take care! :(

As for how it works here, it depends on the country. Most of Nothern Europe has a super-system where everything is owned by the government and taxes pay for healthcare, so every inhabitant of the country is completely covered in medical costs and never has to worry about it. BUT THE TAXES IN THOSE COUNTRIES DAMN. Everything is at least 3x the price of every other European country, even regular groceries. But damn, those countries really know what they are doing and have an amazing health care system. So *cough* onto the Netherlands. There used to be a generic monthly health care system from the government where you paid for (and if you needed lots of special care, you could get add-ons from companies), but about 10 years or so ago, they changed all health care to be owned by companies. The idea was that because of competition, the prices for health care would go down, because everyone would try to offer as much as possible for as cheap as possible prices. In the end, it actually means that health care here is affordable if you have a basic package (because the government pushes for cheap basic packages), but not affordable if you need a lot of extra care. Our system isn't bad per se, but it could be a lot better if you look at other European countries. ^^'' As for the health offices, hospitals etc. themselves, they are all individual companies and you can choose which quality/price you want. Most of our insurances mean something like 'Our insurance will cover your medical costs by a certain percentage', so it's up to you to find the cheapeast/highest quality dentist, doctor, specialist etc. It can be quite a lot of hard work and sometimes these clinics will change prices without announcement, so you always have to watch out... ^^'' But on the other hand if all goods in stores would get tripled in price 'but health care is free!', is maybe also not the best solution...

For example how the package we have works (it's the basic package + a small bit of add-on that we have):
- Free generic doctor checks up until a certain amount each year.
- 75% of dentist bills covered for generic things, 50% for special dentist things
- Local hospitals are covered by 0-90% depending on procedure (you can always check online or call them so you don't get surprises), if you need specalist hospitals or want to choose to not go to your local one you need to discuss with insurance company what their specific deals with that specific hospital are.

So having everything 'company owned' with for them an 'for profit' base can be a bit weird, but at least it's better here than a lot of other even European countries. You don't want to hear all the shit from Southern European countries, man. X_X

Uhuh and those are mostly seeming to retain only, not rise! Of course there are some exceptions here and there, mainly some more niche characters (those prices for all the Calne's from Union now, ack!), but it's less than before that you have to worry about having to pre-order. I actually got a few figures on pre-order right now and I regret it a bit, because of the new shipping companies rules with SAL to the Netherlands, I pay an arm and a leg for shipping nowadays. I'm better off waiting until something is released and snag it asap through a forwarder service which will combine it with other items (I'm stuck to EMS use only).

Speaking about Calne, my cosplay is almost done, the convention on which I will wear it in the competition is just a bit over a week away. I'm really behind on editing/checking/uploading pictures, but here you can see some recent stuff I did:
www.cosplay.com...
www.cosplay.com...

The competition itself is on the 17th, 2PM Amsterdam time (I have no clue what time at your place that is). They did not let me know any livestream website yet, but there is a big chance of it being on whenever.is . If you can't make it, don't worry. There are always tons of people recording the whole act, so it will be visible on YouTube afterwards. :)

Hehe, so many YGO characters are top tier, I just can't get over that drawing style and figures being made of it over all those years~ <3 I'm sure you'll love it even more when you decide to plunge into YGO fandom, but on the other hand it's probably better to protect yourself from it. So much doujinshi... Personality wise I'm guessing Malik is more to your liking than Atem. :)

Lol, but that is true! Last time I was sick when I was able to eat again without puking was an indication I was getting better. xD Argh, you are still working?! I hope you can rest a bit soon. :( You can better take a few days off to rest than force yourself to work, otherwise you will stay sick longer! But it depends on your employer of course what you can and can't do there. And wow, you doctor said to not come over? Over here doctors rather have you come over even with something small (they take every chance to earn money on you). xD Anyway, I hope you can get some rest and wish you the best for your health!

Hehe, you are in two very expensive subjects there, so I can understand! I do have a feeling these figures will go down in price a bit. Most things seem to go down in price nowadays on the aftermarket with the higher release prices being the norm.

His face is perfectly in character and I love it! I do really dislike the huge amount of defects, it was like 'Ah, Bakura has enough fangirls who will buy anyway, so whatever.' >.> Hehe, so Atem is your favorite from the YGO bunch so far? For me Malik (HIS BACK) can't be beat: BLOG #17970 . :>

Urgh sounds bad! Get well soon and take a good rest!

Saw this picture PICTURE #1990257 and thought about you! Did you ended up ordering those cuties? I think not, but I thought you said before you wanted them?

Btw, also just yesterday uploaded a review of another YGO figure: BLOG #40178 . The figure itself is a bit of a letdown, but I think Bakura is probably also your type...? So enjoy! ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Thanks for liking it! I quickly held it against the less dirty-looking-grey wig and it looks very nice next to it. :) Will very soon finish the wig and upload some pictures of it too. Everything is slowly coming together and the costume is close to finishing! Aaah! I'm also excited to start wearing everything! :D

If you want to see it in action by the way, I will be entering a competition that has a livestream with it. Date: 17th of June and will start 2PM Dutch Amsterdam time (not sure about what the exact time will be in your timezone). Website for livestreaming still has to be let known by the organisation, but before it was www.whenever.is (currently offline).

Hey! You were one of the people I asked for advice on how I should paint Calne's roach/isopod/etc.-everyone-calls-it-differently! So I wanted to show you the end result: www.cosplay.com... I'm very pleased with it! :)

Haha, I know right!!! ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) I'm not sure why they skipped his arm muscles for a big part (normally those stand out more with YGO characters!), but I'm definitely not complaining about those pretty legs coming from under that skirt. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) Although probably my favorite YGO bod is Malik's ITEM #166660 , he is slightly more buff than Atem, but still 'lean muscled'. Recently made a new picture of his back btw after re-unboxing him: PICTURE #1971401 Swoon

But haha, sounds like you should maybe add Atem to your collection even though you're not into YGO. I mean, how much figures are even there with this body type or with fanservice in the form of panties with bulge and muscled legs.

I do have to add that this is really a gem in the ARTFX J YGO line so far, as others had more problems with glue spots, paint looking sloppy after a while etc. If Koto is still planning more of these, I hope they keep up the quality of Atem. Koto may not be the ~best manufacturer ever~, but if you're paying 75% of the price of an Alter/GSC figure and you end up getting a figure with at least 75% of the quality of an Alter/GSC figure, you just got what you paid for and should not complain?? It's just popular to be on the Koto hate train, just like being on the Alter love train.

Actually both Jason and Freddy got a re-release recently, so none of them are expensive anymore now. But when only their first release was there, Jason's price skyrocketed while Freddy was still in stock in so much stores. I felt so sad for Freddy. :') But design-wise the Jason figure is so much better. Heck, I actually even enjoy Freddy's movies more than Jason's, but even then I only bought Jason's figure lol. They also don't really feel like a set to me, so I don't feel like I need to buy Freddy to 'complete' them.

Oh, do you have pictures of that cosplay? I absolutely love seeing cosplays like that! It's also one of the reasons why I am stoked for my Calne cosplay. Being pretty and not pretty at the same time. :) SPEAKING ABOUT CALNE. The costume is quite far done now! Would say almost 90%, but I I will be so busy soon, so I will be working on small parts to complete the outfit probably on random late nights and not make much pics anymore (will now just upload a backlog of pics I made earlier). The con where I will enter the costume in the competition is a bit over a month away. Here some random progress that I think I did not share with you yet:

www.cosplay.com...

www.cosplay.com...

www.cosplay.com...

Just a few days ago I pre-ordered ITEM #675943 and had an almost-nope moment when I got to the shipping...it was very high because of SAL still not being available here, sigh. :( Luckily the price for the figure was good and the yen still pretty low, but yegh. I think I will wait more for aftermarket and huge orders with my proxy instead of pre-ordering soon again. On the other hand, I am not expecting much to come soon that I must need actually. I'm quite glad that I never got really into any of the Fate games or anime lol. But I do especially like ITEM #464644 on your ordered list! :)

The first item I wanted from a famous J-Fashion brand was a dress shirt for $90. After shipping and local taxes not to even mention the socks, accessories etc. that are going with it... The outfit cost me way more than any of my business outfits for work and most of my simple cosplays. But I love it, though! maakie.tumblr.c... Right now for an new coord my biggest expense will probably be the shoes, rather than the rest of the stuff that I have found locally. And yeah it's so hard to keep up with J-Fash, if there are certain releases you have to decide between dropping $50+ for a simple t-shirt or missing the release with the chance of never finding it in your life again. X_X

There was a big rejoice in our small collector community when the talks about Japan and us were announced! But it's been so many years, that we think they are stuck in negotiations... Come on Japan, let us get our plastic cheaper, and we will send you cheese and flowers lol.

Speaking about plastic, any upcoming announcements you are excited for? I think I will maybe buy my first 1/4 bunny with ITEM #676240 (although I think aftermarket is better for her price, looking at the rest of the line). And although I stopped collecting Native, I think I will pick up ITEM #676072 .

Oh god, I swoon over almost every character in YGO. Normally a franchise has like 1 or 2 characters I feel attached to, but with YGO it's ALL OF THEM except 1 or 2 lol.
