A thread dedicated to discussing arcade sticks.
Come here if you'd like to ask for information, show off your stick or just to chat.
    I'll kick it off:

    These are my current sticks.
Customized the Madcatz TE-S and Hori RAP EX with custom buttons, artwork, plexi and balltop.
I'm currently working on something for the Madcatz VS as well, but I think the default artwork is pretty nice so I might end up not customizing that one. The Namco stick will stay stock, since messing with it would be blasphemy xD

    Here's my stick:

    http://img200.imageshack.us/img200/3336/dscf07741.jpg

It's a Pelican Real Arcade Stick modded with Happ buttons/joystick and artwork by Tabbykat on Deviantart. I also have a 360 fighting stick customized with Metal Gear artwork, but sadly that one (and my Venom stick) are in storage.

That looks awesome, I love GG.
Not too big on Happ parts myself, but I guess most Americans grew up with them so it's only natural for you to use them.

Woo. Time to show off my 3 built-from-scratch controllers.

Black & Yellow; Made with as much scrap material I had. It was my first joystick built. Dad and sister wanted to help build it so I let them. Sanwa stick, Happ buttons.

I'm missing photos, but the entire bottom panel is hinged and held down with magnets. This let me open it up for fast access to the wires if something was up, as well it let me take the controller cable out of the storage compartment I had in there. So if I wanted to take my joystick somewhere I could tuck the cable away inside. Neat idea.

Orange & White MDF and Canvas Stretcher pieces. Seimitsu buttons, Sanwa stick. Wanted to keep it PS1/PS2 compatible so I didn't gut the PCB off a USB controller, but I installed a PS button for the PS3 by wiring up an extra button to the blu-ray remote sold for the console.

I tried something less conventional and that was to not have an acrylic top panel. This meant I'd have to plug up the drill holes for the mounting screws

    Keeping the store-away hinged-door compartment.

Eventually I learned I'm probably never going to take the sticks out of the house so I took out the storage compartment for more room. I was introduced to the plastic fabrication shop at my school last semester from the time I made this, and made this case out of acrylic entirely. I employed use of its transparency and painted the inside walls to give a cool transparent depth to the side. I didn't want to made a 3rd stick so I reused the same parts from the orange stick.

Trish, Sparda, and Alastor were traces of existing images, Dante I drew myself as well as the depiction of Trish and Dante in the background.

Kept the buttons on the side his time, but notice the red/black/yellow bands aren't on the outside of the case but the inside? Yeah I thought it was cool. The logo and character depictions in the form of neon signs were also a trace, but everything including the front art was composed by me.

But the best part about this stick is that I've tidied up the wiring even more than last time. It doesn't seem important, but it's so nice to look at when it's organized.

About a few months after the orange stick, I thought about making an acrylic stick out of K'Nex after I saw someone made one out of Lego. I didn't have enough pieces, but I would have went through with it if I did.

I build my stick because I can, but if I wanted to ever buy one, it'd be the Hori Real Arcade Pro V3:

So f**king beautiful; the colour-scheme and subtle forms are simply timeless. You just can't say anything bad about its form or colours.

Little late but those sticks are awesome man!
I'm especially fond of the DMC one, love the sense of depth given by the paint on the inside.
You should think about selling custom sticks for a living ;)
I also loved the HRAP V3 when I first saw it.
Then when I got some hands on time with it, I was a little dissapointed by the weight (or lack of it actually)
I like my sticks to have a little weight to them so they don't shift so easily.
I already sold the VS but that thing was perfectly in balance in terms of weight/size. I now rock a Hori Fighting Edge which was a little lightweight at first too, but I added a few strips of lead on the inside and now its absolutely perfect =)
